He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Parvin Laudenschlager, of Burnet; two sons, Wayne Allen Clawson and wife, Amy, of Round Rock, Texas, and Austin Eric Laudenschlager of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Misty Michelle Higgins and husband, Jeff, of Boseman, Montana; grandchildren, Lauren, Shane, and Brooke Higgins of Boseman, Montana, Erin Clawson of Leander, Texas, Camdyn Clawson, of Round Rock, Texas, Saige and Sterling Wyncoop, of Illinois, Sierra Wyncoop of San Antonio, and Anthony Carlson of Round Rock. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy, and husband, Chris Heflin; a brother, Steven Laudenschlager, and sister-in-law, Gretchen Laudenschlager, all of Kokomo, Indiana.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lacey Erin Laudenschlager; his father and mother, Ralph and Helen Laudenschlager; and his brother, Dave Laudenschlager.George was born in Kokomo, Indiana on May 27, 1949. He and Joyce moved to Burnet, Texas in 1984 where he remained until his death.He was a home builder and craftsman for more than 40 years. He is also remembered for his skill in woodworking and cabinetry.George served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was elected to the Burnet City Council in May 2003 and served until November of that year. George was proud of his Army service and was a supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Wounded Warriors, the Vietnam Veterans associations as well as the LaCare Food Bank in Burnet. He volunteered at the Fort Croghan Day Living History events for many years.George will be interred in his home state of Indiana where family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, persons wishing to memorialize George may do so by donating in his name to the LaCare Food Bank, the VFW, the Wounded Warriors or the Vietnam Veterans.
